Olga was a long standing trainer and choreographer serving the youth development Olympic gymnastic teams. She was married to a hugely talented alpine skier who sadly passed before his time. After the Olympic adventure Olga turned her energy to running her own chiropractic practice in Kazakhstan where she resided for several years. In parallel to relieving the pain for her clients she added English to her repertoire of languages and later perfected French with her move to Montreal, Canada. Olga is a world traveler with a Russian grandmother and Chinese grandfather who afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively whilst growing up. It is only fitting that Olga find a natural fit and would after scouting the world choose Asia as her manufacturing choice of excellence.

After moving to the U.S., Olga pursued her passion for interior design, training in Florida, where she has lived since 1999. She began her career designing custom interiors, developing a strong eye for detail, structure, and refined finishes.

Over time, she recognized a gap between sophisticated interiors and the often overlooked outdoor living spaces of Southwest Florida. Determined to fill that void, she founded Shape of Wicker—a brand dedicated to creating durable, high-quality, and beautifully designed outdoor furniture.

Combining her interior design expertise with a passion for form and function, Olga began crafting pieces suited for both indoor and outdoor use. She uses natural rattan for interiors, weather-resistant poly rattan for outdoor settings, and incorporates wood and powder-coated finishes to expand her design versatility.

At the heart of Shape of Wicker is a commitment to fully custom design—if you can sketch it, we can make it. Each piece is created one at a time, tailored to the client’s vision with no shortcuts. Olga is deeply engaged with every element of her work—from overall structure to the smallest details. Her holistic approach focuses on harmony between form and comfort, resulting in pieces that feel as elegant as they are functional. She has a particular affinity for both natural and synthetic wicker, which serve as the foundation for her thoughtfully crafted collections under Shape of Wicker.

Her newest venture, SWAY, located at the Shoppes at Vanderbilt in Naples, has been freshly opened to showcase her most beautiful creations. It features a curated selection of her signature swings—thoughtfully designed, ready-made pieces that are as artful as they are relaxing, and ready to be taken home by you.

Brenda was born and raised in Naples, Florida and as a first-generation immigrant, she brings an exciting and unique perspective on design and functionality to our brand.

Her parents settled in Florida where Brenda and her siblings were born and raised. Today she continues to have a strong love for her Mexican heritage and often travels to visit family.

Brenda knew from a young age that she loved design. Her father being a general contractor, always had a set of blueprints laid out which caught her interest in the design, layout, functionality, and features of a home – both inside and out.

Initially, she wanted to pursue a career as an architect, but quickly that plan changed. For personal reasons she opted for a college closer to home and continued her education at Southwest Florida College; receiving a degree in Interior Design.

Brenda had many responsibilities to juggle, but her dedication and her persistence allowed her to get closer to her goals. During and after college Brenda interned at several local design firms gathering experience in fabric selections, finished selections, and home dressing. Later working as a design assistant at London Bay Homes, she acquired a deeper knowledge of design and layout perspectives hard finishes, and construction experience. That is where and when her love for both construction and interior design merged, which led her to take the role of a Project Manager at her family’s company.

Today, we are exceptionally pleased to have her on our team. Her desire to design brought her back in a full circle to become a team member of Shape of Wicker where her creativity, and knowledge of design could be of service in customizing exceptional furniture that looks and functions beautifully.
